The Transport Complaints Unit received 4,195 complaints and suggestions in the second quarter, up 23.1% on the first. Among these, 38 were purely suggestions.
The major areas of complaints and suggestions were related to public transport services (71%), enforcement matters (15%) and traffic conditions (9%).
The number of complaints and suggestions on public transport services grew 20.5% to 2,979.
The number of complaints and suggestions on franchised bus and minibus services and taxi services rose from 607,555 and 1,221 to 719, 623 and 1,530.
The number of complaints and suggestions on rail services and ferry services jumped from 73 and nine to 85 and 13.
Investigations into 4,365 cases were completed during the period. Of these, 2,858 cases (65%) were found to be substantiated, 252 cases (6%) were unsubstantiated, and the remaining 1,255 cases (29%) were not pursuable due to lack of evidence.
