Shenzhen River flooding will be substantially alleviated when a works project finishes next year, Director of Drainage Services Lai Fuk-kan says.

 

The joint Hong Kong-Shenzhen River Regulation Project has so far worked well, and phase three will be complete next year.

 

Mr Lai today showed Shenzhen Mayor Xu Zongheng Stonecutters Island Sewage Treatment Works and suggested exchange of ideas and experience with Shenzhen authorities. The river works are a joint Hong Kong-Shenzhen project.
