A set of measures may soon be implemented to give further warning to southbound drivers on Tai Po Road.
The move comes amid the Transport Department's probe into the Tai Po Road-Ching Cheung Road traffic accident on August 17. The accident location is a right-hand bend of about 130 degrees.
The department said the location is not an accident blackspot and reiterated the investigation has found the design of the road, signage, and road markings generally in order. However, it has also identified several measures which could further improve safety there.
They include trimming overgrown foliage, enlarging road signs to make them more conspicuous and adding more of them, and painting "SLOW" markings.
The department is also considering planting shrubs to replace trees to provide drivers with a full view of the whole bend.
The Highways Department will increase parapet height from 1.25m to 1.5m and strengthen them by replacing the steel posts and top rails with new and stronger ones.
