Views sought on Tseung Kwan O development

Territory Development Department

The Territory Development Department has launched a series of public consultations to canvass views on the further development of Tseung Kwan O.

The department says public views, particularly those of the local residents, are of paramount importance to the study.

Its objective is to formulate a comprehensive plan to turn Tseung Kwan O into a convenient and vibrant new town with distinctive urban design and a quality living environment.

After taking into account views collected in stage two of the consultation last May, a Concept Plan to provide a broad land-use framework for further development in areas like Tseung Kwan O's Town Centre South, Tiu Keng Leng and Pak Shing Kok, has now been formulated.

Broad selection of views sought

The plan will be presented through a series of public consultations, and views will be valuable for our formulation of a detailed layout plan.

The first consultation session with the Sai Kung District Council was held on January 19. Legislators will be consulted on January 27.

A public forum will be held at 8pm on January 30 at Leung Sing Tak Primary School, next to the Hang Hau MTR Station.

A series of consultations will follow with the Town Planning Board, green groups, professional institutes and Tseung Kwan O area committees.
