Land to be resumed for drainage works
*
Drainage Services Department

The Government will resume 46 private agricultural lots with a total area of 13,115.6 square metres in Sha Po Tsuen, Yuen Long to facilitate drainage improvement works to alleviate flooding in the area.

The proposed works involve the construction of a drainage channel about 700 metres long, varying in width from 6.5 to 15 meters, starting upstream of the watercourse at Sha Po Tsuen and continuing to the existing downstream channel leading to the Kam Tin River.

Plans also call for a maintenance road, a vehicular bridge, a footbridge and a footpath, with associated drainage, slope and landscaping works.

A Resumption Notice for the works was published in the Gazette today.

The works are scheduled to commence in June for completion by August 2006.
