Expert group to study fatal bus crash
*

An independent expert group will be set up to study the safety aspects of last week's fatal bus crash on Tuen Mun Road.

The goup will make recommendations to further enhance highway safety, Secretary for Environment, Transport & Works Dr Sarah Liao said today.

The Government is concerned about the crash, she said, and to prevent it happening again the group's ambits will include highway design and traffic management.

The Chief Executive will appoint the group; Dr Cheng Hon-kwan will chair it. Members will include the past president of the HK Institute of Engineers Edmund Leung and HK University's Dr SC Wong.

The cause and liability of the people involved in the crash are under Police investigation.
