New minibus services set for Route 3
*
Transport Department

The Transport Department is planning new routes for green minibus operations on Route 3 and red minibus operators are welcomed to bid for these routes. This is in accordance with the established policy of encouraging the conversion of red minibuses to operate scheduled services in the form of green franchised buses.

The department is liaising with red minibus trade and will arrange further discussions with them on the planning of the new routes.

The plan is to introduce new green routes from Yuen Long to Tsuen Wan via Route 3. The department will invite drivers to apply for these new green routes in the next few weeks. All red operators are eligible to apply for the new routes.

The department encourages the conversion of red buses green as the latter operate fixed-schedule services and their service and fare levels are under the direct monitoring of the department which can better ensure the quality of service.
