New cross-boundary bridge proposed

*

To meet growth in cross-boundary traffic between Lok Ma Chau and Huanggang, a dual two-lane bridge has been proposed to run parallel with the existing roadway.

The Government aims to start construction in the last quarter of 2003 for completion by the end of 2004.

A notice on the proposed works for the new boundary bridge has been published in the Gazette today.

The plans and scheme showing the proposed works can be inspected at the Yuen Long District Lands Office and the Public Enquiry Service Centres of Yuen Long District Office and Central & Western District Office.

Any person who wishes to object to the works is required to address the objection in writing to the Secretary for the Environment, Transport & Works no later than June 10.
