Girl treated for E.coli infection
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed the year's third case of E.coli O157:H7 infection involving a 10-month-old Tuen Mun girl, a relation of another girl confirmed to be infected on May 20.

The child in the latest case came down with diarrhoea on May 11. She has recovered after treatment.

The infection can be contracted through eating undercooked contaminated food, especially minced beef, or contaminated water, and can be transmitted between people.

There was an infection reported in 2008 and last year. Click here for details.
