Sand sculpture competition

Sand success: The winning team celebrate their anti-drug design at Shek O.

*

An anti-drug design won at the Leisure & Cultural Services Department's sand sculpture competition at Shek O Beach today.

The winning team will represent Hong Kong in the International Sand Art Festival to be held in August in Japan.

The department organised competitions in Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, Sai Kung and Southern Districts between 2007 and 2009. Five winning teams in these district competitions took part in today's competition. They made their creations in an area of about five metres by five metres.

Selection was based on skill, creativity, themes relevance and aesthetics.
