Museums set to open free this weekend

*
Leisure & Cultural Services Department

To celebrate International Museum Day 2010, all museums under the Leisure & Cultural Services Department and other participating local museums will offer free admission on May 15 and 16.

Museums for Social Harmony is the theme of this year's International Museum Day. People will be encouraged to visit the venues to foster goodwill, enhance peaceful coexistence and help build a harmonious society.

Besides open days, museums will host educational programmes and activities, such as guided tours of exhibitions, lectures, workshops, demonstrations and videos.

Highlights include the first ever stand-up "dramedy" Ethnictricity, and a Fun Cultures Bazaar at the Heritage Museum on May 16.
