Five Castle Peak Hospital patients have tested positive for human metapneumovirus. They are now stable and have been isolated.
The five men, aged 71 to 79, have come down with respiratory symptoms since March 14. The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection.
Admission to the affected ward has been suspended. Restricted visits to and discharge from the ward have been imposed. Infection control measures have been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close surveillance.
