Woman dies of postpartum haemorrhage

Department of Health

The case of a woman who died of haemorrhage after giving birth at Baptist Hospital has been referred to the Coroner for investigation, the Department of Health says.

 

The haemorrhage occurred right after she has delivered a baby in an elective Caesarean session on March 3. She underwent a hysterectomy and was then transferred to intensive care unit for further treatment.

 

The department was notified of the case on March 4. The woman died yesterday.

 

An obstetrician had attended to her throughout the whole duration.
