Anti-mosquito campaign to launch in March
*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department will launch the first phase of the Anti-mosquito Campaign 2010 from March 1 to 26.

During the campaign Government departments will strengthen control measures and publicity efforts throughout the city. The second and third phase of the campaign will be launched in April and August.

Meanwhile, the monthly average ovitrap index was 0% last month. The figure for 14 areas available so far for February was 0%.

Although the low indices are encouraging, people should continue to take effective measures to eliminate mosquito eggs as they can hatch when the weather turns warm and wet, the department said.
