Artist in Residence proposals invited
*
Leisure & Cultural Services Department

The Art Promotion Office is inviting artists to submit proposals under a new series of the Visual Arts Centre's Artist in Residence Programme, by April 18.

With the theme "To Interact!", this year's programme will select two proposals to conduct artistic creations in new media with public participation. Selected artists will be invited to stay in the centre for four to six months between this July and June 2012.

During their residency free studio facilities will be provided and they will also give talks, demonstrations and workshops to share their experiences of, and insights in, artistic creation. An exhibition or performance will be organised at the centre or nearby locations on the project's conclusion.

A briefing and site visit is scheduled for March 13 for interested parties to learn more about the project and the residency location. Advance reservations should be made before March 11.

The centre has presented more than 30 local and overseas artists under the programme since 1992 to arouse public interest in art and encourage the experience sharing between artists and the public.
