EAG warm-up events to start

Wednesday will see the unofficial launch of the 5th East Asian Games in Hong Kong with the first four match-ups of the games being held.

 

With the official opening of the 2009 games still four days away, tomorrow will see soccer at Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground, basketball at Western Park Sports Centre, volleyball at the Hong Kong Coliseum and table tennis at Queen Elizabeth Stadium.

 

Meanwhile, eight Hong Kong team members will be flag bearers at Saturday's opening ceremony - Wan Kin-yee (athletics), Chung Hoi-yuk (badminton), Wu Siu-hong (bowling), Ho Kim-fai (rowing), Sherry Tsai (swimming), Li Fai (wushu), Chan Mei-ling (judo) and Wong Fai (shooting).

 

All are medal winners of previous East Asian Games.
