The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed a Legionnaires' disease case involving a 59-year-old Cheung Chau man.

He came down with a fever, cough and myalgia on October 23 and consulted doctors. He was admitted to Queen Mary Hospital on October 30 and transferred to Grantham Hospital on November 3. He is now stable.

There have been 37 cases of Legionnaires' disease so far this year. Thirteen were reported last year and 11 in 2007. Click here for prevention tips.
