Happy family campaign to launch
*

The Family Council will launch a city-wide happy family campaign to promote family core values, Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung says, adding it will co-ordinate and liaise with relevant stakeholders in setting up a happy family info hub.

Speaking at the "Family: A Jockey Club Initiative for a Harmonious Society Annual Symposium" today, Mr Cheung said the hub is a multi-sectoral and interactive support network and platform for exchanging information.

Noting Hong Kong families are facing structural changes as traditional core values to uphold family solidarity are being eroded, he said the government will play the role of an enabler to empower families and facilitate more caring social networks.

Mr Cheung added three-way partnership - between the government, the private sector and civil society, and charitable bodies such as the Hong Kong Jockey Club - is also crucial in taking forward happy family initiatives.
