TKO running track to reopen

*
Leisure & Cultural Services Department

Repairs to Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground's running track have been completed and the facility will reopen to joggers October 5.

The Architectural Services Department, the Amateur Athletic Association and the Leisure & Cultural Services Department said today they are satisfied with the repairs which fixed bumps on the track caused by humidity during construction. Glue was unable to stick firmly to the synthetic surfaces causing the track to protrude.

To keep the track in peak condition for the East Asian Games regular inspections will be conducted. Only lanes three to eight will be opened to protect the inner tracks. People can only wear running shoes on the track.
