2 Chinese medicines recalled
*
Department of Health

The Department of Health today urged the public not to buy or use two proprietary Chinese medicines named Hui Chun Tang Ui Pao Pill and Lu Shen Wan, which have excessive heavy metals.

Both are made by a local licensed manufacturer called Hong Kong Hui Chun Tang Zhong Yao Chang.

Tests found the level of mercury in Ui Pao Pill and lead in Lu Shen Wan exceeded legal limits and posed a health hazard.

The department has instructed the manufacturer to recall the products.

The manufacturer has opened a hotline 2695 8587 to answer enquiries about recall arrangements. The public can also call the department's hotline 2209 9446.
