Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating an upper respiratory tract infection outbreak affecting 25 people, including 14 infants and young children, and 11 staff of a Central & Western District childcare home.

The affected six men and 19 women aged six months to 55 years came down with fever, cough, runny nose and sore throat July 1 to 27. Of them, 17 consulted doctors while two, aged eight months and one year, are stable in Queen Mary Hospital.

The centre has visited the home and given health instructions to its staff.
