21 students treated for gastroenteritis
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating an acute gastroenteritis outbreak affecting 21 students of a Sha Tin secondary school.

The 11 boys and 10 girls aged 16 to 18 came down with diarrhoea and vomiting March 11. No hospitalisation was required. All are stable.

Centre staff have visited the school and provided health and hygiene advice.

To prevent gastroenteritis ensure proper personal hygiene, wash hands thoroughly before eating or preparing food and after using the toilet, and thoroughly cook food.
