A major roving exhibition to promote the Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games kicked off today in Tuen Mun Town Plaza.
The exhibition, which will run until Sunday, covers the games' history and Hong Kong's achievements in it, with videos, interactive sports information, memorabilia and mascot standees for photo taking.
Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Carrie Yau said: "We hope that the exhibitions will generate keen interest in Hong Kong's preparations for the largest sporting event of this kind yet to be held in the city. And of course we hope it will encourage people to support the games by buying tickets to the events, supporting our athletes, and by extending a warm welcome and hospitality to visiting athletes and team officials."
The exhibition will also be at various venues over the next eight months - Olympian City 2 in April, Times Square in May, and six other shopping malls between June and November.
Thirty-six smaller-scale exhibitions are also being held across Hong Kong's 18 districts until December.
