Vegetables pass import checks
*
Centre for Food Safety

All 209 vegetable samples taken recently have passed pesticide residue tests, with no smuggling cases detected.

The Centre for Food Safety and the Customs & Excise Department conducted a joint operation at Man Kam To Control Point January 14 to February 15 to monitor imported Mainland vegetables distributed through direct sale following reports of food safety concerns and smuggling activity.

Officers inspected 114 vegetable trucks, checked pesticide certificates issued by Mainland authorities, and collected vegetable samples for pesticide tests.

No anomalies were found.
