Family business: Chief Secretary Henry Tang opens the Strengthening Hong Kong's Families: Embracing a Holistic Family Approach in Formulating Social Policy & Providing Social Services conference.

A conference promoting a holistic family approach in formulating policy and social services was held today at the University of Hong Kong.

 

Chief Secretary Henry Tang opened the conference, aimed to enhance the family as a core value and promote a better understanding of its meaning and implications. It also sought to emphasise the importance for different Government bureaux and sectors in embracing a holistic family approach in formulating social policy and providing services.

 

Three discussion panels were held with guest speakers. It was co-organised by the Central Policy Unit, the HKU's Family Institute of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the Chinese University's Centre for Chinese Family Studies.
