Carrie Yau visits Budapest
*

Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Carrie Yau has started her three-day visit to Hungary to foster closer cultural relations between the country and Hong Kong.

She today met State Secretary for Culture Dr Marta Schneider and visited the Bartok Bela Secondary School of Music and the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, joined by a delegation from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Her visit follows Hungarian State Secretary for International Affairs Katalin Bogyay's trip to Hong Kong earlier this year.

Academy chairman Professor Leung Nai-kong said the dynamism of Budapest's arts scene hints at the future environment Hong Kong would want in the West Kowloon Cultural District.
