Excessive melamine found in sponge cake
*
Centre for Food Safety

The Centre for Food Safety has found a 'Mai-lai' sponge cake sample from a restaurant to contain 3.2ppm melamine exceeding the legal limit and asked it to stop selling the product.

The centre said today the product in question was made by the food premises concerned. Raw materials for making the product have been taken for tests. Prosecutions will be taken out should there be sufficient evidence.

Click here for test results, or call 2381 6096 for more information.
