Leisure & Cultural Services Department

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department is removing two coral trees in Jockey Club Tak Wah Park, Tsuen Wan.

The department said the mouldering trees have no chance of recovery and pose a risk to park users.

The trees were not listed in the Register of Old & Valuable Trees and have been infested with wasps since 2006. Despite the application of pesticides, the trees have lost most of their leaves and show no sign of recovery.

The department said it will remove a tree only as a last resort to ensure public safety.
