16 in suspected food poisoning
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating three suspected food poisoning cases involving 16 people - 11 men and five women aged 28 to 80 - who felt ill after eating in a Sheung Wan restaurant.

Three men came down with gastroenteritis symptoms and fever about 14 to 16 hours after lunching in the restaurant on August 7.

On the same day, five men and three women had similar symptoms four to 20 hours after a dinner there. The other three men and two women fell ill about eight to 13 hours after having lunch in the same restaurant on August 10.

Eight of them consulted private doctors while three went to public hospitals.
