Alert issued on contaminated oysters
*
Centre for Food Safety

The Centre for Food Safety has advised people not to eat certain batches of New Zealand raw oysters due to possible contamination with a micro-organism which might cause stomach upset.

The affected products are Clevedon Coast Oysters, including those on the half-shell and in plastic tubs, with batches numbered 2230697 - 2210780, 4240687 - 4110780 and 9060780 - 9080780.

The trade should stop selling these oysters. The New Zealand authorities say the relevant company is recalling the affected products.
