Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung will pay a two-day visit to Guangzhou on June 2 and 3. He will call on his counterparts and visit Hong Kong residents there.
Mr Cheung will call on Guangdong Province Department of Labour & Social Security's Director-General Liu Youjun, and co-chair the Hong Kong/Guangdong Expert Group on Social Welfare Co-operation's second meeting with the province's Department of Civil Affairs Director-General Liu Hong.
He will visit Hong Kong residents in a local home for the aged and three Hong Kong families, including comprehensive social security assistance recipients and those under the portable welfare assistance scheme.
He will also visit Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions' Guangdong Consultation Service Centre and meet with about 20 Hong Kong seniors permanently living in Guangzhou.
Mr Cheung will return to Hong Kong on June 3.
