*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed four enterovirus-71 infections involving three boys and a girl aged two to 11, bringing the year's total to 42.

A two-year-old boy came down with a fever and rash May 26. He sought private medical treatment May 29 and was admitted to Kwong Wah Hospital the next day. He was discharged today.

A three-year-old boy developed blisters on May 27 and sent to Princess Margaret Hospital. He was discharged the next day.

The four-year-old girl came down with vesicular rash on her hands May 28 and attended Tuen Mun Hospital the next day. No hospitalisation was required. Nine other students of her nursery had similar symptoms between May 23 and 28, with one confirmed to have EV71 on May 28. Centre staff have given health advice to the school's management and no new cases have been reported.

An 11-year-old boy came down with oral ulcers and a rash on May 28 and was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital May 30. His condition is stable.
