The Department of Health has warned consumers not to buy or consume anti-impotence products called Phallion Super Strong and Better Life as they contained undeclared drug ingredients that may cause serious side effects.
The samples were obtained from two shops in Causeway Bay recently and laboratory tests showed they contained sildenafil and tadalafil. This afternoon, the department seized eight boxes of Better Life from the shop and distributor.

Sildenafil and tadalafil are usually used for treating male sexual dysfunction and their side effects include low blood pressure, headache, vomiting, dizziness, and blurred vision.
They may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs, such as nitroglycerin, and may lower blood pressure of patients to dangerous levels.
Anyone who has bought the products should not take them. They should seek advice from their doctors if feeling unwell after consuming the products. For enquiries, call 2572 2068.
