The 2008-09 School Arts Animateur Scheme will be expanded while the School Culture Day Scheme's positioning will be adjusted, the Leisure & Cultural Services Department says.
The department today said the School Arts Animateur Scheme will be expanded to 12 programmes to cover more performing arts activities ranging from dance, multimedia arts, musicals to drama and music, for 89 schools.
Meanwhile, the positioning of the School Culture Day Scheme will be adjusted so performing arts programmes to be provided under the scheme cater mainly for primary and junior secondary students. Apart from performing arts programmes the scheme will continue to provide activities at museums and libraries for Primary 1 to Form 7 students.
To tie in with the implementation of the New Senior Secondary School Curriculum from September 2009, a pilot scheme for senior secondary school students will be introduced to provide them with a number of arts programmes that will enable them to experience arts through seeing, creativity, performing and relection. Details will be announced soon.
