11 ill in flu-like illness outbreaks
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has received two reports of influenza-like illness outbreaks involving two kindergartens in Wong Tai Sin and Tuen Mun, affecting 11 children.

The patients are five boys and six girls aged two to six. One was admitted to Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital.

The centre said flu-like illness may be caused by influenza or other respiratory viruses. Its staff have visited the institution to offer health advice.

Meanwhile, a report involving a three-year-old girl was received today under the flu surveillance arrangement the centre set up with private and public hospitals. The girl is in Queen Elizabeth Hospital in stable condition. She tested negative for flu.

The centre urged the public to take precautionary measures against flu. For more information, click here.
