The Centre for Health Protection has received two new reports concerning children admitted to hospitals because of suspected influenza-related complications, bringing the total number to 19.

The two cases involve two boys both aged two, who were admitted to United Christian Hospital on March 10 and 13. They are now stable.

The number of cases with laboratory evidence of influenza infection is five. Of them, two patients have been discharged while the rest are stable.

For the remaining 14 cases, preliminary tests on 12 patients have shown negative results for influenza. Results are pending for the remaining two.
