Ma Wan bird H5N1-positive

*
AFCD

A peregrine falcon found in Ma Wan on March 8 has been confirmed H5N1-positive, the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department says.

It was collected in bushes near Pak Lai Road on Park Island and died the same day. The species is a scarce resident and a winter visitor to Hong Kong.

People are reminded to observe good personal hygiene and avoid personal contact with wild birds, live poultry and their droppings. Clean hands thoroughly after coming into contact with them.
