*
Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department

An Oriental magpie robin found dead in Tai Po on February 29 has been confirmed H5N1-positive, the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department says.

The carcass was found and collected at the Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve. The species is common in Hong Kong.

To avoid the spread of avian flu people should observe good personal hygiene and avoid personal contact with wild birds or live poultry. Clean your hands thoroughly after coming into contact with them.
