*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed the year's first Enterovirus-71 case involving a one-year-old girl who fell ill after visiting the Mainland.

She travelled to the Mainland from March 1 to 15 and came down with a fever and rash on March 17. She was admitted to Kwong Wah Hospital two days later in stable condition.

There were eight, 16 and 12 cases of EV-71 infections reported in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
