Anti-mosquito campaign to launch
*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department will launch the first phase of a four-week anti-mosquito campaign February 25.

The drive will raise public awareness on Dengue fever and Japanese encephalitis, while encouraging close partnerships between government departments and community groups in eliminating mosquito breeding grounds.

Departments will strengthen control measures and publicity efforts during the campaign.

The seven area ovitrap indices available so far for February show readings of 0%. However, the department reminded people to take effective measures to eliminate mosquito eggs as they can hatch when the weather turns warm and wet.
