Alert issued on contaminated potato crisps
*
Centre for Food Safety

The Centre for Food Safety has advised consumers to stop eating certain batches of potato crisps manufactured by Walkers Snack Foods due to possible contamination with yellow rubber pieces.

British authorities say the company is recalling a number of different flavours and pack formats of Walkers Crisps and Walkers Max with best before dates of March 15, 2008, and March 22, 2008.

For details of the affected products click here.

The centre will contact UK authorities for more information. It has alerted the trade and is closely monitoring the situation.
