Social security payments to increase 2.8%
*
Social Welfare Department

The Comprehensive Social Security Assistance Scheme and the Disability Allowance under the Social Security Allowance Scheme payments will increase 2.8% from February 1, to keep pace with inflation, the Social Welfare Department says.

A family of two adults and two children with a single carer will receive $5,315 a month, $145 more than the existing rate. The normal disability allowance will increase from $1,140 a month to $1,170.

The payment rates under the Old Age Allowance will remain unchanged.
