The Hospital Authority has awarded a five-year contract for providing indoor poster and outdoor wall site advertising space in public hospitals to two advertising firms. The move is forecast to bring a minimum guaranteed annual income of over $3 million.
The authority's Director (Cluster Services) Dr Cheung Wai-lun said outsourcing advertising services can generate additional income to invest in patient services.
He said 300 poster advertisements will be displayed at 10 public hospitals. For external wall advertisements five sites have been identified at Sha Tin, Princess Margaret and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals.
As an alternative source of revenue the two advertising firms - Convey Advertising Company and Easy & Savvy Media - have to comply with the contractual agreement to pay the authority the minimum guaranteed licence fees annually and share the profit based on the actual advertising income if it is higher than the minimum guaranteed licence fees.
