Caution against red-eye syndrome urged
*
Centre for Health Protection

People should guard against red-eye syndrome as the consultation rate at general out-patient clinics has risen to 2.8 per 1,000 for the week ending September 8, from two for the previous week, the Centre for Health Protection says.

Seven institutional outbreaks have been reported so far this year, affecting 72 people.

People should strictly observe personal hygiene. Doctors and institutions have been notified of the risk of acute conjunctivitis, while schools, kindergartens and childcare centres have been reminded about measures to prevent red-eye syndrome and other infectious diseases.
