Another two salted fish samples have been found to contain histamine, a chemical that can cause a burning sensation around the mouth, facial flushing, sweating, nausea and headache.

The Centre for Food Safety said today that the samples were packed in a glass bottle with the brand name Golden Dragon Thailand Salted Mackerel Fish in Soya Bean Oil. The batch numbers of the products are R7ES002 and R7ES003.

The centre has asked the supplier and other retail outlets to stop selling and dispose of the same batches of product. People who have purchased them are advised not to consume them.

A high level of histamine was found in a salted fish sample of another batch under the same brand name on June 27.

The centre has informed the Thai authorities of the latest test results.
