Plans in place for pandas' arrival

*

State Forestry Administration head Zhao Xuemin is leading a Mainland delegation set to arrive in Hong Kong to attend the giant panda handover ceremony on April 26 at Hong Kong International Airport.

A team of technical experts will first arrive at Hong Kong on Tuesday, to work with relevant departments and Ocean Park for the final preparations for the pandas' arrival.

Wolong Nature Reserve Administration Director Zhang Hemin will give a talk on Tuesday on giant pandas' conservation.

Mr Zhang is also a member of the panel that will select a pair of names for the giant pandas from the 13,000 entries received in a panda-naming contest.

The talk will be held at the Hong Kong Science Museum Lecture Hall, from 10.30am to noon. Admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
