Authority committed to sustainable development
*
Housing Department

In its newly released 2005/06 sustainability report, the Housing Authority says it is committed to the sustainable development of affordable public housing. This requires  integrating the need for economic and social development with environment conservation.

Entitled "Sustainable Housing: New Horizons", the report is an upgraded version of the authority's former annual environmental, health and safety report.

It highlights the authority's performance in six environmental areas, including estate landscaping and greening, water, air, noise, energy and waste; four social areas, including safety, hygiene and health, employee development and contribution to society; and three economic areas, including a business overview, financial performance and managing housing resources to meet market demand.

To reduce paper consumption, the report is produced on a compact disc. It can also be viewed on the website.
