Birds test positive for H5N1
*
AFCD

The chestnut munia and scaly-breasted munia found dead in Kowloon City and Happy Valley have been confirmed to be H5N1-positive.

The former was collected by the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department staff on February 18 near St Teresa's Hospital. The latter was found the next day at the junction of Sing Woo and Wong Nai Chung Roads, Happy Valley.

The department reminds people to avoid personal contact with wild birds and live poultry and to clean their hands thoroughly after coming into contact with them.
