The Hospital Authority Board has endorsed the recommendations of implementing the settlement package for eligible doctors in relation to their claims for compensation for rest days, statutory and public holidays and overtime.
So far 3,771 (87.2%) eligible doctors have indicated their acceptance of the settlement offer, involving $430 million.
The board today also approved late acceptance for a further two weeks to cater for any of the remaining 554 doctors who now wish to accept the offer.
Meanwhile, 772 eligible doctors who have left the authority also indicated their interest in receiving the settlement offer and consideration is now being given to these applications. The amount involved is around $70 million.
With the endorsement by the authority board today, eligible serving doctors will receive a letter in the next few days confirming the compensation amount which will be paid out in late November together with their monthly salary payment.
