Kowloon Hospital has reported a Norovirus outbreak in its Psychiatric Ward, with three patients testing positive since September 20.
Four female patients aged 32 to 59 and one female staff member of the ward have suffered from vomiting and diarrhoea since September 20.
All the patients are being treated in isolation and their condition is stable. The staff member is on sick leave.
Infection-control measures have been bolstered. To relieve the ward's demand, no admission has been allowed while discharge arrangements remain normal. Visits to the ward's isolation cubicle have also been suspended. All other patients in the ward are under close surveillance.
Meanwhile, some mental patients who were originally scheduled to be sent to Kowloon Hospital will be diverted to Kwai Chung and Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospitals for treatment.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for follow up.
